
Tolu Sokenu is a founding Partner of Grene Capital, and he leads the firm’s investment activities. Prior to Grene Capital, Tolu was a Director in Actis’s African Real Estate business, where he played a key role in fundraising, deal origination and execution, portfolio management, and exits across the continent.
Tolu previously served as a Vice President at African Capital Alliance (ACA), investing across retail, hospitality, residential, and office assets in West Africa. He began his career at Citigroup as an Associate in the Investment Banking division covering North American energy, power, and chemicals companies.
Tolu holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He also holds BBA and an MSc in Information Systems and Analysis from Howard University and The Johns Hopkins University’s Whiting School of Engineering, respectively.
